@nt

Bet it all on me

Punchline rap with a sung hook. Cocky on the surface, hungry underneath.
A city on his back.

The tapes
I’m above the law when I’m under the influence Scared money don’t make no money Black, white, no stripes — but I give you all a zebra I ain’t never had a handout Word to the stains on my mattress I never have permission
If you got it, then you get it Six figures in the first six months Hoping God bids higher than the devil I’m a free lunch, paper food stamp Dreaming to start They love you at the bottom, they love you at the top

01 — Demos

The tapes

Demos, cut 2022. Raw mixes, nothing scrubbed. A handful off the pile — there's a lot more where these came from.

02 — The writing

Bars

He is a bar-first rapper. Not mumble, not trap-by-numbers — the writing is the product. Conversational, then detonation. Every line below is his own.

I’m above the law
when I’m under the influence.

Cash Money

Watching the time go, trying to get it back like an arrow —
it’s not gonna fly though.

Gold Chains (ref cut)

Scared money don’t make no money,
so I tell them my Benjamins is afraid.

Never Had A Handout

I’ma tell them we in it for more than game show money.
I’ma help out a friend if you know I ain’t no monkey.

Never Had A Handout

I’m a free lunch, paper food stamp.
No lights, roll dice, runnin’ from the pole.

Never Had A Handout

They said I wasn’t worth this much —
and I made six figures in the first six months.

No No No

So I’m offering my soul,
hoping that God bids higher than the devil by the time they find me.

Gold Chains (ref cut)
A figure from behind in the Portland rain, roses on his shoulder.
Portland, in the rain, back turned.

03 — The artist

He was broke, he wasn’t given anything, and he refuses to be ordinary about it.

@nt is cocky and then undercuts it in the same breath, and that’s the whole appeal: he’ll flex, then admit two lines later that the flex is armor. Self-made, chip on the shoulder, loyal to a short list and suspicious of everyone outside it.

His range is wider than it first looks. Never Had A Handout is a chest-out anthem. Kryptonite is genuinely vulnerable and melodic. Lala is playful and dismissive. He is not a one-mode artist.

The devices are consistent: dense multisyllabic chains that run through the bar instead of just landing at the end. Setup, then punchline on the last beat. A sung melodic hook over rapped verses — the hook is the thesis, the verses are the argument. And he answers himself, ad-libs echoing behind his own lines.

Every flex traces back to the same engine: no handouts.

Ashamed
To Be
Average

Track 01 of the new work. The title is his own line out of Cash Money — and the hook reaches back through the catalog on purpose.

I’m ashamed to be average,
so I’m up when the sun ain’t,
I’m dreamin’ with my hands,
that’s word to the stains on the mattress.
I’m ashamed to be average,
so I’m buildin’ out the damage,
if you got it then you get it —
(I ain’t never had a handout)

Hook — “Ashamed To Be Average”
